Required Skills

• 6+ years of Android development experience
• In-depth understanding of the entire software development lifecycle
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin
• Deep understanding of:
  • Android SDK, memory management, application lifecycle
  • UI frameworks (Jetpack Compose / XML-based layouts)
  • Multithreading (Coroutines, Flow, threading, concurrency)
• Networking & Security
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing and networking using Retrofit/OkHttp
  • Solid understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, TLS and secure data transmission
  • Experience implementing authentication mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, Bearer tokens, API keys)
  • Familiarity with advanced security practices such as certificate pinning and secure storage (Keystore)
• Experience with architectural patterns:
  • MVVM / Clean Architecture / MVI
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Good understanding of authentication and authorization standards – OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect
• Writing clean, efficient and scalable code following development best practices, accompanied with applicable tests.
• Excellent analytical and multitasking skills 
• Ability to well document the developed functionalities. 
• Good command of technical English

Nice to have experience with

• Development enterprise software solutions from scratch
• Cryptography and Crypto libraries
• Previous experience developing software adhering to regulatory requirements (like GDPR).
• Experience with mutual TLS (mTLS) and client certificate authentication
• Experience with Relational Databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Experience with Messaging Brokers – e.g. RabbitMQ

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin
• Lead architectural decisions (MVVM, Clean Architecture, modularization)
• Work closely with the project managers, technical lead, front-end and back-end developers, QAs and DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality back-end solutions.
• Ensure performance, scalability and maintainability of apps
• Design, implement, and maintain unit and integration tests (JUnit, Espresso) to ensure high code quality, reliability and regression safety across Android applications
• Write clean, testable and well-documented code
• Drive CI/CD, release processes and App Store deployments
• Participate in code review process, enforcing optimizations and applying best software development practices.
• Investigate, debug and resolve issues within existing production services and solutions.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
