Trinsic is a US-based digital identity acceptance network founded in 2019 by Riley Hughes, the company’s CEO. It raised an $8.5 million seed round in 2022 led by Georgian, with Osage Venture Partners and Kickstart Seed Fund. Originally a decentralized identity platform built on Hyperledger Aries, Trinsic divested that business to Dentity in 2024 to focus exclusively on its Identity Acceptance Network.
Through a single API, the platform connects businesses with more than 60 digital identity methods used worldwide, including mobile driver’s licenses, EU digital identity wallets, BankIDs, eIDs, and reusable identity wallets, with a combined reach of over 60 million pre-verified users across more than 50 countries. Trinsic routes each user to the most efficient verification option for the platform’s compliance and risk requirements, is SOC 2 certified, and is built on open standards such as W3C Verifiable Credentials, mDL, and eIDAS 2.0.
