Evrotrust is pleased to announce the expansion of its DACH team with the appointment of two senior professionals who will lead the company’s commercial growth across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and broader Western European markets.
Timo Lemmer joins as Senior Vice President New Business DACH. With over 20 years of professional experience spanning product management, consulting, and senior sales leadership, Timo brings a proven ability to build and scale business in highly competitive markets.
His nearly 15 years-long background in digital identity, KYC/KYB and trust services, most recently in a Senior Director capacity, positions him well to drive Evrotrust’s strategic expansion in the region.
Meanwhile, Björn Hundhausen joins as Director New Business DACH. Over the course of his career in the identity and QTSP sector, Björn has developed deep expertise in the German banking market, working with national and international financial institutions to implement compliant digital onboarding processes.
His progression from business development through to senior sales leadership reflects both his technical understanding of the sector and his ability to deliver results at enterprise level.
We sat down with Timo and Björn to hear what drew them to Evrotrust and what they see ahead for the market.
What makes this a pivotal moment for European digital identity?
Timo: The regulatory foundation is finally catching up with the technology. eIDAS 2.0, AMLR, the EUDI Wallet – these are not incremental updates. Instead, they represent a fundamental shift in how identity and trust will work across Europe. For years, the sector has been building toward something like this. The fact that it is all converging now makes this one of the most interesting moments I have seen in my career. I wanted to be at the center of it, and Evrotrust gives me exactly that opportunity.
Björn: I would agree – the timing is exceptional. What is particularly striking from a financial services perspective is that compliance is no longer just a checkbox exercise. Banks and financial institutions are looking for partners who can help them navigate this new landscape strategically, not just technically. That shift opens up a very different kind of conversation, and one that Evrotrust is well placed to lead.
Timo, you have spent your career at the intersection of technology and business development – how does that shape the way you approach a market like DACH?
Timo: It means I rarely see a product and a market as separate things. Understanding how technology actually works (what it can and cannot do) changes the quality of the conversations you have with clients and partners. In DACH especially, where buyers tend to be thorough and technically literate, that matters a great deal. My goal is always to find the point where a client’s real problem and our actual capability meet. That is where lasting partnerships are built.
Björn, you have built deep roots in the German banking sector. What does that experience tell you about what enterprise clients in regulated industries actually need?
Björn: Honestly, more than anything, they need to be able to trust you. Not just the product, but the people behind it. The German banking market moves carefully and deliberately, and rightly so; the stakes are high and the regulatory expectations are exacting. What I have learned is that if you understand a client’s compliance environment as well as they do, and you show up consistently, the relationship builds itself. That is the approach I am bringing to Evrotrust.
Both appointments come at a significant moment for the European digital identity landscape. With eIDAS 2.0, AMLR, and the forthcoming EU Digital Identity Wallet framework reshaping the regulatory environment, Evrotrust is well positioned to meet growing demand for qualified trust services across Western Europe.
Timo and Björn will be based out of Evrotrust Technologies GmbH in Munich, the company’s DACH hub.
