Evrotrust is excited to announce that our qualified electronic signatures (QES) have now been added to BoldSign. Customers using this leading eSign platform will be able to take advantage of our eIDAS-notified QES solution to ensure compliance, reliability, and convenience when signing contracts, agreements, and internal or personal documents online.

BoldSign: A Smarter Way To Sign Documents Online

BoldSign was initially created by Syncfusion to meet the company’s own eSignature needs. The software developer giant needed a flexible, affordable, and scalable solution to sign electronic documents for both external and internal needs but quickly discovered that nothing on the market met its requirements. So, it decided to create its own eSignature platform.

Today, BoldSign prides itself on its transparent pricing model and adaptability, allowing it to cater to the signing needs of businesses of all sizes and complexity. Some of the platform’s standout features include, among others:

  • Unlimited self-signing: users can sign their own documents for free without limitations;
  • 25 free eSignatures every month – for when you need other people to sign;
  • Services fully compliant with eIDAS, the ESIGN Act, and other applicable regulations;
  • The ability to customize sign requests to match your company’s brand identity.

Paired with round-the-clock support and robust security, these features amount to a seamless, trustworthy eSigning solution to meet the needs of any business.

How To Use the Evrotrust QES in BoldSign

The qualified electronic signatures provided by Evrotrust are fully compliant with eIDAS and all applicable trust services regulations. Thus, they have the same legal weight as handwritten signatures across the entire European Union and non-EU countries that respect the bloc’s legislation.

Now, through an API integration with our services, our highly secure, legally binding QES is available to use directly in BoldSign.

How can you make use of it? All you need to do is enable QES, request a qualified signature, and have the document recipient be registered in the Evrotrust mobile app. You can check out BoldSign’s eSign product tour to see how sending and signing electronic documents works in the platform.

What Makes Qualified Signatures Different

Although many document management and eSignatures platforms offer simple or even advanced electronic signing, nothing beats the reliability of qualified electronic signatures.

Defined under the eIDAS regulation, qualified electronic signatures have the highest level of assurance. Unlike simple and advanced eSigns, QES has a reverse burden of proof: it is automatically legally valid, even in court.

What’s more, to issue a certificate to the user to sign with a qualified electronic signature, they must first undergo thorough identity verification.

In our case, we conduct a remote electronic identification according to eIDAS’s requirements. That includes scanning a valid ID document, taking the user through an AI-based liveness check, cross-referencing their data against relevant authoritative registries, and manual supervision by our trained experts to ensure error-proof, secure identification.

By choosing Evrotrust’s qualified electronic signature as your signing method, you ensure maximum security, reliability, as well as speed, convenience, and notable cost reductions in your document management.

Getting Started with Evrotrust in BoldSign

When signing documents with EU-based entities or nationals, you can take advantage of Evrotrust’s qualified electronic signature. That option is disabled by default, so you’d need to enable qualified signing in your settings:

Also, when sending the document to your chosen recipient, make sure to check the QES option for the signer:

Once you send the document for signing, the recipient will get an email with the request. They can then hop onto BoldSign to finish signing the document. They will need the Evrotrust mobile app for this, so we encourage you to have them register with us before you send them the eSign request.

New to Evrotrust? Here’s What You’ll Need

If the user is new to Evrotrust, they will need to download our mobile app and go through the initial registration. This process takes about 2 minutes and requires:

  • A stable internet connection;
  • A valid ID document (ID card, passport).

The user will also go through a quick, AI-assisted liveness check. Finally, they’d need to confirm their phone number and, optionally, their email.

Note that this is only for first-time Evrotrust users. On subsequent requests, existing users can sign in just a few seconds with a single tap in our app. After we’ve verified the user the first time, we create a reusable digital identity for them to make all future interactions with our app quick and effortless.
