Evrotrust is strengthening its presence in the DACH region through new partnership with Shufti and sproof, making its qualified trust services available to a broader range of businesses through platforms they already use for digital onboarding and signing.
Bringing Evrotrust Closer to Businesses in the DACH Region
As more regulated processes move online, demand is growing for digital identity and signing solutions that combine strong user experience with legal certainty.
This is particularly relevant in the DACH market, where financial institutions, insurers, telecommunications providers, public-sector organizations, and other regulated businesses are under increasing pressure to digitize customer journeys without weakening compliance standards.
Evrotrust already provides the qualified trust infrastructure required to turn a verified identity into a legally valid digital transaction. As a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP), Evrotrust can issue qualified certificates and enable qualified electronic signatures that are legally recognized across the EU.
The new partnerships with Shufti and sproof extend the reach of those services. By integrating Evrotrust directly into their platforms, both companies can make qualified trust services available within customer journeys that businesses are already using for identity verification, onboarding, and document signing.
The Problem With Fragmented Digital Onboarding
For many businesses, verifying a person and getting that person to sign a document are still treated as two separate processes.
A customer might first complete an identity check. They may then be redirected to another service or application to obtain a certificate, authenticate again, or complete a signature. Each transition introduces another opportunity for the user to abandon the process.
The challenge becomes greater when a qualified electronic signature (QES) is required. A QES provides the highest level of electronic signature recognized under the eIDAS framework and has the equivalent legal effect of a handwritten signature across the EU. But delivering one requires more than simply adding an electronic signature field to a document.
There needs to be sufficient assurance about the identity of the person signing. A qualified certificate must be issued, and the relevant qualified trust services need to be provided by regulated infrastructure.
That is the gap the Evrotrust, Shufti and sproof integration is designed to close. Instead of treating identity verification, certificate issuance, and signing as separate events, the three services operate as parts of the same workflow.
How Evrotrust, Shufti and sproof Work Together
The collaboration brings together three complementary layers of a digital transaction.
- Shufti provides identity verification. Depending on the use case, this can include notified eIDs, document and biometric checks, or NFC-enabled identity document scans.
- Once the signer has been verified, Evrotrust provides the regulated trust layer. Evrotrust issues the qualified certificate and delivers the qualified trust services required for a qualified electronic signature.
- sproof provides the signature orchestration that allows the transaction to be completed within the signing workflow.
The integration means businesses using these platforms can offer a process that moves from identity verification to qualified signing without requiring users to leave the journey or obtain a qualified certificate separately in advance.

A Broader European Trust Ecosystem
The partnerships also reflect a wider development in the European digital identity market. Businesses are moving away from isolated identity checks and toward infrastructure that connects identity, authorization, signing, and long-term evidence.
A successful identity check is increasingly only the beginning of a digital transaction. The more important question is what a verified identity can securely and legally do afterwards. Evrotrust provides the regulated layer that makes this connection possible.
As Dr. Heinrich Grave, Managing Director DACH at Evrotrust, explains:
“Europe is moving from isolated identity checks towards reusable, regulated digital trust. Evrotrust’s role is to provide the qualified trust infrastructure that makes a verified identity actionable in legally significant digital transactions. Together with Shufti and sproof, we are demonstrating how qualified trust services can be embedded directly into the customer journey – securely, seamlessly and at scale.”
Making Qualified Trust Easier to Access
The expansion of digital trust will depend not only on regulation, but also on accessibility. Businesses should not need to redesign their entire technology landscape to adopt qualified trust services. And end users should not have to navigate fragmented processes simply because a transaction requires a higher level of legal assurance.
By embedding Evrotrust into platforms such as Shufti and sproof, qualified trust services can become part of existing digital journeys rather than a separate layer that businesses and customers need to manage themselves.
For Evrotrust, this approach supports a broader ambition – to make regulated European trust infrastructure available wherever businesses need to establish identity, intent, and legal certainty online.
