Evrotrust has appointed Adrian Hristov as Chief Financial Officer to support the company’s next stage of growth. An ACCA-qualified finance leader and CFA Program Level II holder, Hristov brings over two decades of experience spanning Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Romania, and the broader European market. This background in scaling high-growth, regulated businesses will be instrumental as we expand our EU digital identity and qualified trust services footprint.
The timing is opportune: enterprise digitalization is accelerating across Europe, while the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet initiative seeks to streamline cross-border interoperability and regulatory alignment under eIDAS 2.0. Against this backdrop, Evrotrust is positioned to capture disciplined growth in trust services.
“Welcoming Adrian as CFO comes at a pivotal moment for Evrotrust. With more than 20 years of experience leading finance for high-growth companies – including scaling revenue from €5 to €50 million and leading investment rounds exceeding €20 million – Adrian brings expertise in financial leadership and strategic growth. He will be leading Finance, Investor Relations, and Planning, preparing Evrotrust for its next stage of international expansion.” –
Konstantin Bezuhanov, CEO at Evrotrust
We caught up with Adrian Hristov for a quick chat about the CFO role and his more immediate priorities.
Q: What about Evrotrust’s mission personally clicked for you, and when did you know this was the right moment to join the team?
A: What drew me to Evrotrust is the mix of local roots with European ambition. It’s rare to see a Bulgaria-based team setting standards in digital identity, and the feedback I heard about the culture – practical, expert, innovative – sealed it. With the EUDI Wallet on the horizon, this feels like the perfect moment to help guide the company’s next stage of expansion and maturity.
Q: You’ve worked across Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, and Romania – what have these markets taught you about building trust at scale, and what habit do you hope to bring to our finance culture from day one?
A: Each market shaped my view that sustainable growth depends on reliable, predictable, and transparent processes systems. In Austria and Switzerland, I learned the value of financial discipline in regulated environments; in Bulgaria and Romania, the power of agility and creativity when resources are tighter. Combining those two mindsets is how you build trust at scale. From day one, I plan to bring a habit of clarity: aligning financial data, operations, and strategic decisions so everyone can see how trust is created, measured, and maintained.
Q: In digital identity, what’s one trend you’re genuinely excited about and one you’re skeptical of, and how will that shape Evrotrust’s financial strategy going forward?
A: I’m genuinely excited about the new use cases emerging as digital identities become more widely accepted, both in the public and private sectors. Broader adoption will unlock partnerships that didn’t make sense before, connecting finance, government, and consumers in new ways. I’m somewhat cautious about the current hype around quick, fragmented implementations that overlook compliance and interoperability. For us, the financial strategy must support scalable, standards-based growth – investing where trust and long-term value align, not just where the buzz is.
It’s an exciting moment for Evrotrust – new opportunities, new energy, and a shared belief that trust grows through expertise, collaboration, and vision. Welcome again, Adrian!
